Quick Guide to Microneedling: Why You Need to Try It
We’re all looking for ways to age gracefully and rejuvenate our skin. You’ve probably heard of microneedling treatment in your quest for effective therapy. But you may still be unsure about how to microneedle correctly, which device to choose, and how to get the most out of your treatment. Don’t worry, we’ve got you covered.
Reasons to Love Microneedling
Microneedling is an incredibly effective treatment with many benefits that you may not know about. Microneedling helps reduce acne scarring.
If you’re searching for a clinically proven solution to help improve your skin concerns then look no further!
How Microneedling Actually Works
When microneedling, tiny needles from the motorised Dr. Pen microneedling devices make microchannels in the skin with virtually no pain.
When this process happens, the body stimulates a natural healing response that rejuvenates the skin through increasing its collagen production and elastin. Collagen-rich tissue is what you need to smooth out your skin’s appearance.
Here’s How to Microneedle
It Looks Intimidating and Painful…
Many people who haven’t tried the treatment believe microneedling is invasive and it hurts.
But actually, microneedling treatment is a safe and effective treatment. The needles are really fine and tiny, so there’s virtually no pain involved. It is minimally invasive with little to no down time.
Some Dr. Pen customers opt for using numbing cream before the treatment, if they have a high sensitivity towards pain. Using numbing is optional and it’s down to your personal preference. We always recommend patch testing numbing cream to ensure you do not have an adverse reaction.
How Long Does it Take to See Results?
Healing from microneedling usually takes only 24-72 hours. You may see the result as soon as the skin heals - it may take a week to see early skin improvements.
For best results, consistent microneedling treatment is needed every 4-6 weeks when the skin is fully healed over a minimum of three treatments. You can nano needle weekly in between your microneedling treatments to help boost your results.
What Dr. Pen Microneedling Device Should I Choose?
Among several Dr. Pen’s microneedle pen types, this time we’re putting a spotlight on the Dr. Pen Ultima X5 and A7 models.
The Dr. Pen Ultima X5 pen is fit for licensed professionals. This model comes with a 16,000 RPM motor and five adjustable levels of speed options perfect for getting a consistent needle stamp. Besides that, it has an ergonomic design, is wireless, and has a rechargeable battery.
The Dr. Pen Dermaheal A7 pen could be a good choice for licensed aestheticians or medispa professionals. Although having a slightly lower motor power than the X5 with 8,000 - 15,000 RPM, A7 pen is among the most powerful from Dr. Pen. This specific model also has a finer gauge pin cartridge option to cater to different client’s needs.
